L’ARTE È IL MESSAGGIO | MAIIIM AND MuMA, MUSEI DI GENOVA

The group exhibition titled “L’arte è il messaggio” (Art is the Message), curated by Virginia Monteverde, opens today, Friday, December 20.
The show explores the role of video art in contemporary society and features seven artists: Stefano Cagol, Elisabetta Di Sopra, Igor Imhoff, Eleonora Roaro, Jean Sadao, Paolo Treni, and Koen Vanmechelen.

The exhibition, a result of the collaboration between MAIIIM and MuMA, examines the communicative potential of video as a medium, drawing on Marshall McLuhan’s theories about the importance of the medium as the message.
The artworks encourage critical reflection on the dynamics of the present and future, positioning art as a tool for communication and interpretation in the digital age.
