HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON E L’ITALIA | CAMERA, TORINO
On February 14, the exhibition “Henri Cartier-Bresson e l’Italia” opened, a major monographic show exploring the connection between the French photographer and Italy.
Through 160 vintage photographs and numerous documents, the exhibition delves into a relationship that began in the 1930s and continued into the 1970s, highlighting how Italy’s vibrant street life inspired the “decisive moments” that made Cartier-Bresson’s work famous.
From his early masterpieces of 1932 to photo reportages for various international publications, the exhibition offers an overview of the country’s vitality and depth, while also showcasing its social challenges and rich traditions.
Curated by Clément Chéroux and Walter Guadagnini, the exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Fondation Cartier-Bresson and Fondazione CAMERA and will remain open until June 2.
