Fabrizio Bellomo | Book presentation
As part of the program of the exhibition Talent Prize 2008-2017, set-up in the spaces of MACRO Museum in Rome, Fabrizio Bellomo, Inside Art special price, presents his last book Meridiani, paralleli e pixel, edited by Postmedia Books, on tuesday 19 december from 6PM in the spaces of Fondamenta in Rome.
Introduced by Guido Talarico, Inside Art chief editor and in conversation with the curator Saverio Verini, Bellomo will start from his latest series Untitled, to introduce themes and issues discussed in the publication. A narration focused on grids as recurrent element, at the basis of our contemporary system of control and manipolation. Through historycal events and personal facts, the artist comes to unveil how each digital image is governed on a underlying code. Reflection developed and examined in the series of photographic portaits, Untitled, realized by the hand-copying on a chequered paper, of any single pixel color code of some Internet-found mugshots images. Although numbers are report in each single square, the shape of the portraits remain visible. Some portraits are anonymous, other are dedicated to characters of the lates news, that are in some way related to the code world.
The exhibition Talent Prize 2008-2017, curated by Fabrizia Carabelli and Elena Pagnotta, is on view until 26 december in the spaces of MACRO Museum (Via Nizza, Rome). Among the artists featured in the show, also Alberto Sinigaglia, with his series Microwave City – Clouds.
